Soundroid Privacy Policy
1. Who We Are
SENDA LLC ("we", "our", "Senda") is a limited liability company organized under the laws of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, with a mailing address at:
410 Avenida Montesol, Ste 14 #2078 Fajardo, Puerto Rico 00738
Senda LLC is responsible for the Soundroid mobile application for Android (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles, where it goes, with whom it is shared, and what choices you have.
If you have questions about this Policy, write to us at support@sendapr.com.
2. At a Glance
- There is no account. You don't sign up, sign in or give us your name, email or phone number.
- Your schedules and settings stay on your phone. We have no server that receives them, and we never see them.
- The App is free and shows ads through Google AdMob. To do so, Google's ads software receives your device's advertising identifier, your IP address and information about the ads you see. This is the only information that leaves your phone because of the App (apart from Android backup and the optional purchase, below).
- Optional purchase: Remove ads is a one-time purchase made through Google Play. Google handles the payment; we never see your payment details.
- Android backup: if you have it turned on, Android may copy the App's data to your Google account backup. That is handled by Google; we have no access to it.
- We do not sell your information, and we don't use analytics or crash-reporting services.
- You can delete everything by deleting your schedules, clearing the App's storage, or uninstalling it.
3. Information the App Handles
3.1 What the App stores on your phone
The App keeps the following in its private storage on your device:
- Your schedules: the name you give each one, the days it repeats, its start and end times, the sound mode it sets (Sound, Vibrate or Silent), what it does when it ends (go back to your previous mode, switch to a mode you pick, or stay as it is), whether it is switched on, and when it was created.
- Your preferences: language, clock format (12 or 24 hours), color theme, and whether ads are turned off.
- Your previous ringer mode: when a schedule starts, the App remembers the mode your phone was in so it can restore it when the schedule ends. It is erased once it has been restored.
- A record of its own changes: which schedule it last applied and until when, the last change it made (its time, the schedule's name, the sound mode and whether it worked), and whether you marked your phone maker's battery step as done. The App uses it to catch up on a change it missed, to avoid making the same change twice, and to show you what it last did.
This information never leaves your phone through the App and is never sent to us. It is stored in the App's private storage, which other apps cannot read. The App does not add encryption of its own; it relies on the protection Android gives app data, including device encryption when your phone uses it.
3.2 Android backup
The App allows Android's built-in backup. If you have backup turned on in your phone's settings, Android may include your schedules and preferences (Section 3.1) in your device backup to your Google account, and use them to restore the App on a new phone. Your previous ringer mode and the record of the App's changes are left out: they describe only the phone they were made on. That backup is made, stored and protected by Google under your Google account and Google's terms; SENDA LLC has no access to it. You can turn backup off, or delete backups, from your phone's settings and your Google account.
3.3 What the App does on your phone
To do its job, the App works with your phone's sound settings. All of this happens on your device, and none of it is sent anywhere:
- It reads and changes your ringer mode (sound, vibrate or silent) at the times you schedule. When it switches to Sound or Vibrate, or restores your previous mode, it also turns Do Not Disturb off if it was on.
- It schedules alarms with Android so that changes happen on time, even when the phone is idle. Because of how Android handles these alarms, your phone may show the next scheduled change as an upcoming alarm, for example in the status bar, the lock screen or a clock widget. Tapping it opens the App.
- It makes each change from a brief foreground service. Recent versions of Android only let an app change the ringer while it is visible or running a foreground service, so at each scheduled time the App runs one for a second or two, which Android shows as a short notification, and then stops it.
- It may show a notification when it changes or restores your sound mode. On Android 13 and later, this only happens if you allow notifications for the App; it asks the first time you save a schedule.
- It keeps your schedules in step with the clock. When your phone restarts, the App is updated, the time or time zone changes, or you open the App, it sets its alarms again and checks that your phone is in the mode your schedules call for. If a change was missed, for example because the phone was off, it makes it then.
- It checks its own setup in More › Reliability check: whether the permissions in Section 6 are on, whether Android is restricting the App's background activity, and your phone's manufacturer, so it can show the extra battery steps some brands need. These checks run on your phone, and their results are not stored or sent anywhere.
3.4 Information we do NOT collect
- We do not collect your name, email, phone number, contacts, messages, calendar, photos, files or location.
- The App does not use the microphone or the camera.
- The App does not read your notifications or the content of your calls.
- We do not use analytics, crash-reporting or tracking services of our own.
4. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The App is free and is funded by a banner ad shown through Google AdMob, a service of Google LLC. The ads are served by Google's Mobile Ads software built into the App, which collects information on its own to show and measure ads and to prevent fraud. As Google describes in its documentation, this includes:
- Device identifiers, such as your device's advertising ID and app set ID.
- Your IP address, from which an approximate location can be inferred.
- Information about your device and the App (for example, model, operating system version, language and App version).
- Information about your interactions with ads (such as impressions and taps) and diagnostic information about how the ads software performs.
On phones that support them, the ads software may also use Android's ad-privacy features, such as Topics and attribution reporting.
Google may use the advertising ID to personalize the ads you see, under Google's own policies. The App does not show its own ad-consent screen; depending on your region, Google may limit the ads it serves, for example by showing only non-personalized ads. You can reset or delete your advertising ID, and manage Android's ad-privacy features, from your phone's settings (usually under Privacy → Ads, or Google → Ads).
To learn how Google uses this information, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Turning ads off. The More screen includes Remove ads, a one-time purchase. When ads are turned off, the App stops requesting ads. Google's ads software is still started when the App opens, so it may still contact Google at that moment.
The purchase. Remove ads is bought through Google Play billing. Google processes the payment under your Google account and its own terms; we never receive your name, email or payment details. The App asks Google Play, when it opens, whether this Google account owns the purchase, and keeps the answer on your phone. Google Play also gives the App a purchase token, which the App uses only to confirm the purchase back to Google Play.
5. With Whom We Share Your Information
We share nothing about you ourselves, because we receive nothing. The only third parties involved are:
| Who | What for | What they receive |
|---|---|---|
| Google AdMob (Google LLC) | Showing and measuring ads | Advertising ID and other device identifiers, IP address, device and App information, ad interactions and diagnostics (see Section 4) |
| Google (Android backup) | Backing up your phone, only if you have backup turned on | The App's data from Section 3.1, inside your own Google account backup |
| Google (Google Play billing) | Processing the Remove ads purchase, only if you buy it | Your purchase, under your Google account and Google's terms. Google tells the App only whether the purchase exists |
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. If we were ever required by law to provide information, we would have none about you to give beyond what is described here, because the App does not send us anything.
6. Permissions
The App asks Android for the following permissions. Some are requested only when you choose to grant them in your phone's settings.
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| Do Not Disturb access | To switch your phone to Silent and to turn Do Not Disturb off when a schedule calls for Sound or Vibrate. Without it, Silent schedules use Vibrate instead. |
| Alarms & reminders (exact alarms) | To change your sound mode at the exact minute you chose. On Android 14 and later it is off until you turn it on; the App takes you to the setting. |
| Run at startup | To reschedule your schedules after your phone restarts. |
| Vibration | Part of changing your ringer to Vibrate. |
| Notifications | To tell you when a schedule changes or restores your sound mode. The App asks for it the first time you save a schedule. |
| Run in the foreground | Recent versions of Android only allow ringer changes from a foreground service. The App runs one for a second or two at each scheduled change, then stops it. |
| Internet and network state | Used by Google's ads software to load ads. The App itself sends nothing over the network. |
| Advertising ID and ad services | Used by Google's ads software as described in Section 4. |
| Keep awake and background work | Declared by the Google software the App includes, which uses them for its own background work. |
You can review and revoke these permissions at any time from your phone's settings. Revoking Do Not Disturb access or Alarms & reminders may stop your schedules from working as expected. The App's Reliability check, in More, shows which of them are on.
7. Your Choices and Rights
Because the App keeps your information only on your phone, you are always in control of it:
- See it: everything the App stores is shown in the App.
- Change it: edit or delete any schedule, and change your preferences, at any time.
- Delete it: delete your schedules, clear the App's storage from your phone's settings, or uninstall the App. If you use Android backup, copies may remain in your Google account backup until it is updated or you delete it.
- Ads: reset or delete your advertising ID, or turn ads off in the App, as described in Section 4.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of your personal information. SENDA LLC holds no personal information about you from the App; requests about the information collected for advertising can be made to Google. If you have any question, or need help exercising a right, write to us at support@sendapr.com and we will respond within a reasonable time (generally between 7 and 30 days).
8. Security
The App has no account and no server of ours, so there is no database of user information that could be exposed. Your schedules and settings are protected by Android's app sandbox, which prevents other apps from reading them, and by your phone's own security (screen lock and device encryption). The only network traffic comes from Google's ads software.
No system is 100% secure. If you discover a vulnerability, write to us at support@sendapr.com.
9. Data Retention
The App keeps your schedules and settings on your phone until you delete them, clear the App's storage, or uninstall the App. The previous ringer mode is erased as soon as it has been restored.
We retain no information about you. Information collected by Google for advertising, and any Android backup, is retained according to Google's policies and your Google account settings.
10. Children
The App is not directed at children under 13, and its ads are not configured for a child audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. If you believe a child under 13 is using the App, you can remove it from the device, and you can write to us at support@sendapr.com.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the App, to our practices or to applicable law. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we will give notice inside the App before it takes effect.
